VGMA Unsung award is mine – Feli.
This year’s edition of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA) Unsung Artiste category might be one of the most competitive, since its inception three years ago.
The six nominees, competing for the accolade namely, Wan O, Ebony, Perez, Nii Funny, Feli Nuna and Adomaa, are all proven heavyweights in their own right and could each easily bag the award without much trouble.
However, Feli Nuna has told Showbiz that despite the stiff competition, she stands heads-and-shoulders above the “crowd” and she deserves to win the award.
Feli Nuna, real name, Felicia Nuna Akosua Tawiah said she was not fazed by the competition and that her talent, quality of her work and support from her fans would be enough to win her the award.
“There are a lot of good artistes in the category but I am not even watching them. Since I received the nomination, I have been working on a number of promotional drives trying to generate publicity for myself.
I know that I am the best in the category, so I am simply focusing on creating awareness, putting out good music that makes it worth the vote for those who wish to vote for me,” she said.
Feli said although she was excited to have been nominated, she was not entirely surprised since the single which got her nominated, I Like Am, has been an immense success, gaining massive airplay and praise across the country.
“I always knew nomination was a possibility, thanks to the massive support of my fans. The nominees for the VGMA Unsung Category are determined by fan votes on social media, so I was aware of all the work my fans were putting in on my behalf”, she said.
Feli informed Showbiz that she was not a new player in the music game since she made her first appearance some years ago but had to take a two-year hiatus to find her purpose in life and work on her skills.
“I had to take a break but I am back for good now. At this point, everything feels right and I feel God’s purpose for my life is coming to fruition now. “During my break, I took the time to rebuild myself and brand from the ground. I also signed with a new management, Beehyve Entertainment, and so I am hopeful and excited for the future,” she said.
She thanked her fans for their support and urged them to vote massively for her to bag the coveted accolade of the 2016 VGMA Unsung Artiste of Year.
