Bernard Avle wins 2017 Journalist of the Year – full list of winners
The Director of Programming at Citi FM who is also the host for Citi FM’s flagship morning show, “The Citi Breakfast Show” has been adjudged the 2017 journalist of the year at the just held Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) Awards.
The event took place yesterday, 27th October 2018 at Kempinski Hotel and it was filled to the brim with Journalist from all over Ghana.
Bernard Koku Avle takes the mantle from Peace FM’s Kwame Sefa Kayi who won the Journalist of the Year award for 2016.
Bernard Avle is an ALIWA Fellow, an Edward R Murrow Fellow of Journalism and a Chevening Scholar. His ALIWA project, iJourno Africa involves unearthing and training African journalists in using data journalism tools to effectively tell African stories
This year’s Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) Awards was on the theme: “State of Investigative journalism: Boundaries of privacy and borders of the public interest.”
