Ama Abebrese schools Becca on racism and tribalism

TV personality has joined the list of angry social media users to educate on the difference between racism and tribalism in African marriages.

George Floyd’s death has changed the world and blacks all over the world are protesting for a better and safer future for blacks on the planet. However, some local celebrities such as Becca thinks racism in the USA and tribalism in African marriages is the same thing.

If you could recall, Becca’s marriage to Tobi Sanni met a lot of backlashes from Ghanaians with her own mother against her marriage to the Nigerian man. This explains why Becca thinks tribalism in African marriages is as worse as racism and police brutality in the USA.

In Becca’s earlier post which caused an uproar on social media, she referred to people who are fighting racism in America yet are against inter-tribal marriages as hypocrites, a word Ama Abebrese disagreed with.

You are here in Africa fighting and advocating racism in the US but in your church/home, you are criticizing and judging someone for marrying a fellow African because they are not from your hometown/country/church… Damn Hypocrites!!!” she tweeted.

However, Ama K Abebrese believes as awful as ‘African tribalism in marriage’ may sound, it has no link or whatsoever to the fight against racism and police brutality in the USA.

According to Ama, the two things are incomparable hence comparing them would ruin the fight against racism and police brutality.

Sis they are both wrong, however, it’s incomparable to equate the fight for the systemic racism in the USA to African tribalism in marriage and hypocrisy. You can highlight that without appearing to diminish the fight about police brutality. Murder is not marriage. Love always” she replied.
