Mawunya rebrands with new look, readies new single “Yehowah Se Aseda” – SEE PHOTOS

Mawunya — Ghanaian Gospel Singer hints of her new single due for release this July. The title for the new single she says is “Yehowah Se Aseda”.

The calm and collected Ghanaian Gospel Singer, who always comes across with a crescent smile is perhaps one of the ‘unsung' Ghanaian Musicians hasn't been recognized mainstream yet. Mawunya does all genres of music but with a soft spot for Gospel, a genre she's more identified with. The singer who went into hiatus after dropping her debut album “Esewoara” – released in February 2018.

Born Love Kissi-Nyarko, the seasoned Gospel Singer has lived a music career spanning over 2 decades and still counting. Inspired by her late Mother, she got introduced to the music world at a very young age where she would perform at “FunWorld” and “Kidafest”, some of the nostalgic Ghanaian talent shows in the 1990s.

Music Journey

Mawunya honed her stagecraft and vocal confidence through those early stages before joining a music group later called “Showers Of Love”. The group debuted their first album in the year 2000 with Mawunya as the Lead Vocalist. It was in the same year she met Joseph Appiah (Quick Action), who also introduced her to voicing records and other studio related jobs at Mastermix Studios — one of Ghana's seasoned Music Producers she still has a good connect with.

Achievements:

Mawunya holds a very shocking Music CV of works done. She has worked and backed numerous creative works; notable among them are Jael Wiafe, Elder Collins Amponsah, Nana Yaw Asare, Obiba Sly Collins, Yaw Sarpong, Kaakyire Kwame Appiah, Fatau Keita, Naterial (MTN Hitmaker Season 1), the late Michael Dwamena and many others.

Mawunya has featured in jingles & ads with Quick Action such as: Rice Master (CAN 2008), Ecobank, UT Bank, Gluconade, Ahotor FM and many others.

Mawunya has also worked with engineers like: Quick Action (S24 Rec. Studios), Sami Helwani (Mastermix Studios), Shardrach Yawson (Shar), Andrew Morgan (JMorg Studios), Walter Moon, Samuel Owusu, Okyeame Quophi and many others.
