Singer King Jerry Eyes Top Awards With “Sankofa” In VGMA & 3Music Awards
Hiplife musician King Jerry has set his sights on winning big at the next edition of 3Music Awards and Vodafone Ghana Music Awards pencilled to happen next year.
The Osagyefo Entertainment signee in an exclusive interview with Sammy Flex on Showbiz Daily said his two songs (Sankofa and Obaagbo Oshi) are all doing massively well and both qualify for nominations in any award scheme in Ghana.
“Before the beginning of the year, I had a dream about my music career. In the dream I was told to release a gospel song before I could release any other songs. I was warned that if I don’t release a gospel song, I will not make any hit this year. So I prayed about it and decided to just follow these instructions. So I dropped a gospel song but didn’t really promote it like my current two hit songs. And it worked perfectly for me. I have two great hits now with Sankofa being a global hit” he said.

According to Jerry, he is impressed with how far God has brought him in his career and only hopes that he will get the right people to join his team to make his work more visible in public to attract deserving recognition in the industry.
He also grabbed the opportunity to announce his new gospel song titled “Mantse Mli Amantse” (King of Kings) whose visuals will be available on Youtube soon. The song was produced by Asuo. King Jerry disclosed he has been in the industry for a very long time but has solely depended on God, so this particular song is for the church.
“I have been in the industry for long. The time I was headlining shows, artiste like Dobble were all known and were back stage with their CDs looking for opportunity to perform. But I have always had hope in God and want to appreciate God for how far he has brought me and all the good he has done for me in my music career” he stated.
If everything goes according to plan, he could be one of the front-runners for New Artiste and Most Popular Song for both 3Music and Vodafone Ghana Music Awards.
