Ghanaian actor Van Vicker has recounted an uncomfortable situation he encountered when he started starring in Nigerian movies.

He told on UTV that due to the competitiveness of the movie industry, the Nigerians actors preferred the deals to go to their own.

“Initially everything was good, but at a point, the Nigerian male actors had issues with me so I did face some threats, adverse situations here and there because they were not too happy,” he said.

however noted that later on these Nigerian actors had come to terms with the fact that they were all brothers and it was part of the business to have people from other places join them.

“Later on, they realized I had no ill motives toward them so it wasn't what they were thinking,” he said.

He also added that he made good money from Nigerian producers.

“…it made me appreciate the competition. It made me appreciate the lifestyle of other people and also it made me take some risk knowing that as an actor because it is highly competitive, you want to go outside your comfort zone because that's where the real opportunities and development of yourself can be,” he further noted.

The actor further stated that he has been pursuing a degree in communications and would want to have a master's degree in the same course soon.

He has starred in movies such as ‘Princess Tyra', ‘Royal Battle', ‘Mummy's Daughter', ‘American Boy', among others.
