Dj Mac supports Volta Showbiz/Media industry with Dj Mac Challenge

Two winners, Randy Edudzi Ahadzi – Global FM Morning Show host in Ho and DJ Stephen, drive time show host on Shine FM in Akatsi – southern Volta have already walked away with GHS 1,000.00 each since the challenge began last month.

DJ Mac is a professional Disk Jockey and Cyber Security Engineer based in the United States of America.

Known in real life as Kossi Azoumaro, DJ Mac grew up in 2 neighbouring countries; Togo and Ghana. At age of 16, he knew how to handle the turntable perfectly and was playing at parties and funerals.

Within the last 25 years, DJ MAC worked at Radio Lomé, Volta Premier FM in Ho, Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC) in Tamale before relocating to the USA.

DJ Mac holds a Professional Certificate in Computer Systems Security and has worked for the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the US government and owns a cyber security company TeksPros.

According to the IT Guru who now runs his online shows as a hobby and also as his little contribution to the growth of the media industry back home, he was looking out for ways he could support his “fellow” practitioners in the Volta Region since the Covid-19 came and since he cannot support every single person working in the industry, he decided to throw a challenge which will  help in selecting a few deserving persons to merit cushioning.

He then came up with Dj Mac Challenge, a social media challenge where four or more industry players put in a category would be selected and their fans would be required to endorse them in a poll-like competition on Facebook, and the winner of the polls walks home with DJ Mac branded T-shirts and an amount of one thousand Ghana cedis.

*”GHS 1,000.00 might look like nothing but imagine 10 or 20 people walking away after ten or 20 weeks, that would have been ten or twenty thousand Ghana Cedis direct support for persons that are contributing towards the growth of the media/showbiz industry in my home region”* he said in an interview with Bright Ellis on Global 105.1 FM.

He further stated that, he is looking forward to staging an excellence awards that will celebrate hard work and recognize the contributions of the many people that have toiled to ensure the continual growth of these industries. This award is tentatively expected to take place December 2021.

Touching on the On-line shows hosted by Kossi Azoumaro aka DJ Mac, he introduced a new show which aired on Friday 5TH March 2021 dubbed “HOT PALAVER”. This  comes to add to his “Weekend Vibe Show”, and ” DJ MAC TALK SHOW”, which are all  social media live shows on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays every week targeted at boosting the culture of the people of Togo and Ghana.

The hot Palaver show saw the controversial musician cum radio presenter Blakk Rasta as it first guest. Just as the focus of the show, their conversation centered on the current happenings in Ghana. The socioeconomic issues, political issues, the judicial system, the recent supreme court hearing of the 2020 election disputes and the judgement that was passed, and the LGBTQ+ controversy.

The DJ Mac Challenge resumes this weekend.
