“I’m Moving On To International” – Kuami Eugene Reveals
Ghanaian Highlife/Afrobeats sensational singer, Eugene Kwame Marfo popularly known as Kuami Eugene has revealed his Aim now is to go international.
Kuami Eugene came into the music industry in 2016 after placing third in the season 5 of the popular musical contest ‘MTN Hitmaker’. He got signed to Richie Mensah’s Lynx Entertainment after dropping a couple of mixtapes and covers after the show.
He received much attention with his hit song ‘Angela’ in 2017, and was able to amass over a million views on YouTube, the best record for any artiste under the label as at that time.
He cemented his place in the Ghanaian music industry after he dropped a continuation of the story line in his ‘Angela’ song and titled it ‘Confusion’. He later went viral after been accused of stealing lyrics and sampling songs from other artists both local and foreign.
In response to the critics and heavy backlash, Kuami Eugene dropped one of his hit songs titled ‘Wish Me Well’ in 2018 to shade his critics and those who wish bad for him.
Kuami Eugene is the reigning Vodafone Ghana Music Awards’ artiste of the year after he won the award at the 21st edition of the musical event which was held last year, He will also be contesting and hoping to win the award back to Back this year as he has again been nominated in that category in the upcoming edition of the awards.
The ‘Confusion’ hit maker was at the center of controversy when it was alleged he got into a heated argument with Hiplife rapper Guru after reports of him disrespecting Guru hit the media. Guru later dropped a ‘diss’ song for him in the midst of the conversation.
