I Have No Regret Choosing Secular Music Over Gospel – KiDi
Dennis Nana Dwamena, better known in showbiz as KiDi, a highlife and Afrobeat musician, says he has no regrets for not singing gospel music.
KiDi, a devout Christian who worships at the International Central Gospel Church, believes that he does not need to perform gospel to teach and satisfy music fans.
KiDi said on Onua FM that he is certain that as a secular artist, he will have the same effect on people as his peers in the music industry who want to do gospel.
Contrary to popular belief, KiDi claims that there are atheist artists who have a close friendship with God, and that their inspiring and educational songs have impacted the lives of many music fans.
KiDi, who is signed to Lynx Entertainment, has established himself as one of Ghana’s fastest emerging stars after releasing another chart-topper, “Odo,” in July 2017.
In December 2017, he remixed the single with Nigerian artists Davido and Mayorkun.
At the 2018 Ghana Music Awards, he won Highlife Song of the Year for his hit single “Odo.”
At the 2019 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA), he won Male Vocalist of the Year, and at the 2020 VGMA, he won Album of the Year for his debut album “Sugar.”
KiDi has also shared the stage with artists such as Sarkodie, Samini, Tiwa Savage, Shatta Wale, Wizkid, and Patoranking.
