“I Am Not Making Music For Charts” – Gyakie Clarifies
Gyakie, the present artiste of the moment, has stated that she does not make music with the intention of reaching the top of the charts.
Gyakie, the legendary Nana Acheampong's daughter, stated this in a tweet after being named one of the top five highest performing afrobeats artists on the Global Digital Artiste Ranking.
She is the only female and Ghanaian on the list, and she is currently ranked fourth. Wizkid took first position with 133 points, followed by Burna Boy with 114 points, and Davido in third with 64.1 points.
Gyakie came in second with 40.8 points, while Omah Lay came in third with 39.0 points. These accolades and chart success, according to the ‘Forever' singer, mean nothing to her because she creates music to feed the souls of her fans and music lovers.
She also thanked them for their unwavering support and dedicated the songs to them.
She took to Twitter and wrote:
Not making music for the charts but your soul. However, my fans keep making me proud of them. The Chart is for the Gyakie Chans.
