Following months of accusing each other of stealing songs more than the other, Lynx Entertainment signed singer Eugene Kwame Marfo, better known as Kuami Eugene, and Highly Spiritual Music signee Andrew Commey Otoo, better known as Mr. Drew, were observed performing on the same stage.

When it comes to updating the list of musicians that predominantly sample other people’s songs in Ghana, Kuami Eugene and Mr. Drew are two names that must be included.

Kuami Eugene is currently ready to appear in the Accra High Court after a Nigerian musician named Oduma Essan accused him of stealing his song. Oduma is seeking damages in the amount of GHC120,000 for the expense of producing his song and music video.

Not just that, but Kuami Eugene has been accused and caught numerous times for sampling other people’s songs, yet we are oblivious to the fact that the majority of the songs he samples are either old or unpopular, but his sampling turns them into hits.

Mr. Drew, on the other hand, has been identified as a song sampling artist. It will be remembered when he was caught borrowing Rotimi’s “Love Riddim” for his “Eat” song with Stonebwoy.

Mr. Drew said in an interview that Kuami Eugene taught him how to steal tunes, referring to him as his senior in the song sampling industry.
