Henry Quartey, the Greater Accra Regional Minister, has followed Vice President Dr. Bawumia’s lead in assisting Psalm Adjeteyfio.
A video of the legendary actor begging for GH3000 to pay his rent went viral a few days ago. The actor’s situation was brought to the attention of Dr Bawumia, who paid GH50,000 for his rent plus 20,000 pocket money. He is well known for his part as T.T in the iconic ‘Taxi Driver’ series.
In a same vein, Hon Henry Quartey has promised to pay the ace Ghanaian actor a monthly stipend of GH1,500 starting this month, September, and continuing till the conclusion of the eighth parliament in 2024.
T.T’s good effect in the film and entertainment sector has led the Minister, who is also the Member of Parliament for Ayawaso Central, to commit to a monthly deduction of GH1,500 from his parliamentary pay to be given to T.T.
The Minister’s formal statement is as follows:
“inspired by the positive impact in the film and entertainment industry where you distinguished yourself, I have equally decided to support you with a monthly stipend of GHS 1,500.00 from my Parliamentary salary”.
“I have therefore placed a standing order for the monthly transfers to your account effective September 2021 till the end of my tenure in the Eighth Parliament of the Fourth Republic on 7th January 2025,” excerpts of his letter indicated.
