Sadiq Abdulai Abu, the CEO of 3Media Network, the organizers of the 3Music Awards, has refuted outrageous charges made by Shatta Wae that undermined his award scheme and aimed to smear his reputation.
Shatta Wale and Sadiq Abdulai Abu have been engaged in a furious online battle, although it was the former who became louder by claiming that Sadiq was behind his record-breaking 11 prizes at the 2011 edition of the 3Music.
Sadiq gave Shatta all 11 awards, according to Shatta, because he (Sadiq) had difficulties with rapper Sarkodie and dancehall singer Stonebwoy. Shatta Wale also stated that he handed Sadiq GH100,000 to assist him in organizing the awards.
Despite Sadiq’s denials, there are concerns that the charges would tarnish the 3Music Awards’ image. In an interview with Graphic Showbiz, Sadiq, on the other hand, took a firmer stance on the matter.
He made it obvious that Shatta Wale would not be able to bring the 3Music Awards into disrepute since he was untrustworthy.
“Anything Shatta Wale says should not be taken seriously because it is all false. First and foremost, I never gave him 11 awards because of my disagreements with Sarkodie and Stonebwoy.
“Secondly, Shatta Wale has never handed me any money in the amount of $100,000. He stated, “Shatta Wale will never give me money to organize any awards.” Sadiq claimed that due to Shatta Wale’s track record, he had never taken him seriously.
“Shatta Wale is the type of person that battles everyone who tries to outshine him. Consider what he said about Stonebwoy, Samini, and Sarkodie while they were feuding.
Unprintable insults were hurled at Charterhouse and his son’s mother by the same person. “Why should I be concerned about someone who would destroy you with lies?” he asked.
The board of the 3Music Awards, according to Sadiq, was dealing with the problem.
“Shatta Wale should explain how we handed him the 11 awards and the money he claims he gave us to the board. He remarked, “The 3Music Awards is larger than Shatta Wale, and there is no way he can pull it down with his lies.”
