Darryl Paa Kwesi Bannerman-Martin, better known as Joey B, the award-winning Ghanaian rapper, has sparked outrage on Twitter after claiming that cigarettes taste great.
This isn’t the first time a musician has come out and admitted to smoking. Top musicians like Shatta Wale, Yaa Pono, Omar Sterling, Mugeez, and others are known to smoke, but no one knows why. It may be to keep them energized while playing on stage or to inspire their songs.
Joey B’s confession, on the other hand, had nothing to do with smoking wee or any other hard drug, but rather with letting his fans know that of all the songs he’s written, “Cigarette” is his favorite.
The Cigarette song was published in August 2013 and has only had 423K views on YouTube so far.
