“I Don’t Steal Songs” – Kuami Eugene Clarifies

, the multi-award-winning Ghanaian artiste, has dispelled claims that he plagiarizes tunes.

, the highlife and Afropop musician, has been accused of plagarizing  songs from other artists without giving them credit on many occasions.

During a special listening session for his new EP Afro-highlife, Kuami Eugene revealed this while answering Citi FM's Kwame Dadzie's queries. Copyright breaches are not taken lightly by the artist's management team, according to him. To avoid any future difficulties, he stated the rightful owners of each artwork are appropriately acknowledged.

He went on to say that his record label, Lynx Entertainment, has gone through the required steps to get the rights to create his current single, “Tena Fie,” for his next album.

Kuami Eugene has been accused of copying music from artists on many occasions. Ottomi Patrick Akhere, popularly known as Oduma Essan, a Nigerian musician, has sued Kuami Eugene, a highlife performer, for allegedly copying his tunes.

Kuami Eugene was taken to the Accra High Court by a Nigerian musician for copying his song. In July 2020, the musician accused Kuami Eugene of plagiarizing the concept and parts of his track “Show Body.”
