The dimming spotlight 📌📌📌

To those of us dreaming of becoming famous and celebrities in whichever field in the future, we must begin to prepare for the sustenance of those statuses and our presence on those platforms.

In this day, becoming popular is a matter of split-second but we must always remember it won't end there, you will have to sustain the status or you will end up damaging yourself more. When people's attention is directed towards you, it comes with unending expectations as well. To be consistent in what you do that shot you to fame takes years of studying, planning, and training.

Physical and Spiritual preparation for fame and popularity is more necessary than the spotlight itself. And you can read that again and again until you fully grasp what it means.

I will tell you about the Example we had in Ho a few months back. I believe you still have the event of the “rise, fall, death, and burial” of the career of our KlanteNation Boss from Ho Ahoe? Of course, that should be fresh and I believe that at the mention of his name, a certain category of laughter begin to gush out of your brain. That is a typical example of a person who was hungry for fame without equipping himself for it sustainance.

When he began trending and making people laugh, others, including me, felt this was going to be Volta's version of a Comic Lyricist and we were ready to promote it. Attempts were made and plans were hatched to promote him until he appeared on the Sunset Drive Show with my friend Richard Amegah on West FM. The Cognitive Dissonance we suffered listening to that his freestyle was highly damaging to both our head and his image. Everybody, since that day, toned down on mentioning his name and he has since also not appeared on any event flyer. Even if he did, it was a gathering of likes.

Did he get the spotlight, no matter how little it was? Yes, he did. Did he goof and mess himself up in the process? Yes, he did. Did he choose the spotlight over preparation, learning, and equipping himself for what the spotlight was bringing? Yes, he did, just like most of us today are hungry for the stage than what it takes to sustain our presence on it.

Hear this, the larger part of what is happening to Shatta Wale in recent times is not about trending or publicity or being controversial. The man has gotten to a place where he needs to fall on certain tools he forgot to pick along. He took them for granted and now those actions and inactions are catching up with him.

He did well to reach where he is, his name is now an institution, or call it a big brand but brands or Products have cycles and at every stage of the cycle, you would be required of certain brand management tools to handle affairs. The same approach and the same procedure will over time become boring and that is what is happening to him.

Shatta and all that he has achieved over the period don't need such a cheap publicity stunt to trend today. This is where he needs to head into the executive arena to keep encouraging the youth that it is possible to rise from the ghetto and hit the highlife. Life should be from grass to grace and not grass to grass. Indeed it was the ghetto wings that catapulted him into the realm in which he is now but the new realm requires different modalities and approaches to doing things.

No matter how much you love a certain food, eating it every day becomes tiring, and in no time, what used to be a good favorite food all of a sudden becomes what you don't want anymore. It is not because the food is no longer good, tasty, or nice but it is because you have had enough of it.

To my fellow upcoming artiste, hear this, you are doing well to hit the limelight but please keep this at the back of your mind that it takes more than the limelight to remain relevant at the top. It takes more than just hit songs to remain important in an industry like that of yours. Funny Face did not get here overnight. His issue is now considered mental hitches but I want you to know that he is a contributing factor to his woes today. Being a comedian goes beyond being a funny face and having the ability to crack jokes. There was more to his career than just fooling.

He did something spectacular when he diverted to a comedian for Children and it was blowing up but when the “Queens of the gate” visited him and because he was not fully prepared, things degenerated into what we have in our hands now.

Small beginning of everything is good but not all persons survived having to learn and prepare while on the stage. The best for all of us is a holistic preparation for the arrival of the spotlight. The spotlight is a gadget on rotation and when it picks the signal of the next available person or event that is ready, it shines on such. What we need most, is, before the spotlight locates us, we would have been ready and not just ready but fully ready.

This is just another Wisdom_Capsules.

“I Accepted A Bribe To Keep Mute After Seeing A Pastor Bonk A Colleague’s Wife In His Office” – Gospel Singer, Erico

Published

Erico

Famous for competing in the Mentor competition, gospel artist Eric Oduro has shared how he exposed a senior pastor who was having an extramarital affair with a colleague's wife.

In his account of the incident on Adom TV's Okukuseku with Emelia Brobbey, said that he had been hired to serve at a church in Nungua when the incident occurred.

It was his responsibility, he said, to oversee a spirit-filled ministry that would bring in the senior pastor to deliver a sermon to the congregation.

He stated he had to reroute his route and return to the church after doing his work and leaving the property because he had forgotten his glasses in the pastor's office.

Upon barging into the senior pastor's office, he said the scene that unfolded before him was so shocking that, to date, he occasionally gets flashbacks.

recounted seeing the pastor pants down while banging the junior pastor's wife, who doubles as the church's secretary, on his desk.

As he snatched his spectacles and made attempts to quietly walk out, he said the pastor pleaded with him not to create a scene as church service was still ongoing.

In exchange for his silence, Erico claims the pastor offered him a substantial bribe, which he accepted.

Gyakie

Ghanaian artist has opened up about her misgivings about dating a man who works in the music or creative arts fields.

Although love is undoubtedly lovely, stated in a recent interview with 3FM that romantic connections with individuals in your career could be challenging.

She would not be dating anyone in the industry for the time being, even if she accepted that love is erratic.

If there's another version of myself, I won't counsel myself to do that. As it might be quite risky, I wouldn't suggest doing that.

“Love is a beautiful thing. I wouldn't say it's wrong, but at the same time, right now, I wouldn't advise myself to be with an industry person,” Gyakie said.
