“We Plead For Leniency For Shatta Wale” – MUSIGA President Bessa Simons

Bessa Simons, the Acting President of the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA), has begged for Shatta Wale's mercy.

His appeal comes after the musician and two others were detained in connection with a bogus gunshot.

Shatta Wale was arrested after turning himself in on October 19 to assist in investigations into his alleged involvement in the creation and dissemination of information intended to cause fear and panic, according to a police statement.

Shatta Wale's fake shooting fiasco was sparked by a prophecy from a pastor, who has since been arrested.

Mr. Simons, however, remarked on GTV's Breakfast Show that he hopes the law is compassionate toward Charles Nii Armah Mensah, also known as Shatta Wale.

“I hope the law treats him a little more leniently. “I don't enjoy musicians getting into problems like that,” he apologized.

“I believe we live in a country controlled by laws, regulations, and rules. On Thursday, October 21, he said, “I don't want to see musicians get in trouble with the law and things like that.”

The legendary Highlife musician went on to say that this should be used as a guide for all musicians and artists' managers.

“I believe this should also serve as an example to all musicians to ensure that whatever they do, they safeguard themselves against such things.” Also, the management that looks after our celebrities should make sure they don't get into any problems.”

He also warned quack preachers not to make all types of predictions.

“Having said that, I'd want to say something to the preachers who are making all kinds of prophesies. It makes no difference. What if you mention something and it's incorrect? If you have something to say to a certain person, call them and speak with them. Though you don't say anything, it'll appear as if you're trying to cash in on his celebrity.”
