“IGP Is Just Doing His Job, He Has Nothing Against Celebrities” – Lord Paper
Michael Takyi Frimpong, better known by his stage name Lord Paper, the Ghanaian hiplife singer, has lauded the Inspector General of Police (IGP) for his recent measures in combating crime.
When asked if he agreed that the police were targeting celebrities during his interview on Y102.5FM's ‘RyseNShyne' with Naa Dzama, the ‘Skin Pain' hitmaker said this.
“I think this is the first time an artist has gone through this, with the exception of Kwaw Kese, who was detained a few years ago,” he added. As a result, I feel the IGP is performing his duties.”
Meanwhile, he has commended Shatta Wale for the abduction prank, claiming that Shatta understands what he's doing and that predictions should be told to the individual involved privately rather than in the public realm.
“I also believe Shatta understood what he was doing, and that what he did was beneficial in the sense that, while prophecy isn't always a negative thing, it may occasionally force people with evil intents to do horrible things.”
Following the arrests of Shatta Wale and Medikal, social media has been flooded with reactions. Popular comedian DKB, for example, has expressed his feelings on Twitter, declaring that he does not want to be a famous in Ghana.
