“Stop Overpraising Dampare, He’s Just Doing His Job” – Ola Michael Tells Ghanaians
Ola Kwaku Michael, the movie producer, and radio host has expressed dissatisfaction with Ghanaians' praise for IGP Dr. Dampare.
All of the fuss, he believes, is unnecessary and uncalled for.
Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, the Inspector General of Police, has been praised by Ghanaians for his prompt response in tackling crime in the country. Especially after Shatta Wale and Medikal were detained for inducing fear and panic and displaying a pistol, respectively. The filmmaker, on the other hand, is of a different mind.
Ola Michael said he will only appreciate the IGP if he arrests politicians who breach the law on Onua TV's Anigye Mmere with AJ Pounds.
“AJ, I'd want to share something with you. When you believe you're penalizing a celebrity, you're actually strengthening their fame and fan following. The IGP is performing admirably, but you should refrain from lavishing praise on him. He's going about his business. Do you get the same compliments for your work, AJ? “He's doing what he's been paid and assigned to do,” he stated emphatically.
He went on to say that the post of Inspector General of Police is never easy to come by and that many compete for it. So, as long as he's doing what he's supposed to do, there's nothing unusual about it. He went on to claim that politicians are the only ones that break the law and get away with it. And if Dr. Dampare is successful in combating that threat, he will join the IGP's lyrical acclaim.
