“People Always Think Dancers Have No Aim In Life”-Incredible Zigi Laments
Michael Amofa, also known as Incredible Zigi, the popular Ghanaian choreographer, has stated his frustration with how dancers are labeled as irresponsible in life owing to the nature of their career.
Dancers, unlike musicians, actresses, and other artists, are consistently undervalued in the entertainment industry. Dancers, in fact, tend to excite audiences even more than musicians. Chris Brown, Usher Raymond, and Mr. Drew were all dancers before stepping into the music business, and they still keep their dancing talents in addition to their music, and both skills have helped them become some of the world's biggest artists.
Incredible Zigi bemoaned in an interview with Andy Dosty on Hitz FM's Daybreak Hitz that people have always assumed that dancers or choreographers had no purpose in life and can't give anything to society.
That attitude, he claims, is gradually fading owing to people like him and his colleagues who have promoted the skill and helped others understand the value of taking up dance.
He noted that in order for people to appreciate them more, he and his team had to leave the scene for a while in order to brand themselves better for the market, and that as a result, Ghanaians have given their skill as choreographers more respect and support.
Incredible Zigi, who specializes in Afro dance and Hip Hop, is presently one of Africa's most prominent dancers.
