Shatta Wale, the self-proclaimed Ghanaian dancehall singer, has declared that he is a different breed than all other musicians in the world and that he does not need to be compared to anybody.
Shatta Wale stated during his #FreedomWave concert that he does not need to work with Nigerians to sell out his performance. While the Ghanaian music industry has traditionally supported Nigerian performers, he claims that Nigerian musicians have failed to reciprocate.
On stage, Shatta Wale expressed his dissatisfaction with certain Ghanaians’ belief that he couldn’t sell out his own shows without working with Nigerians.
His comments elicited a mixed response on social media, particularly among Nigerians, who chastised him for criticizing Nigerian singers on stage. Many people have criticised him, including some Nigerian industry players like DJ Bign, who have been upset by his harsh statements.
Shatta Wale said in a recent message on his Twitter page that he is distinct from his colleagues and other musicians in other areas of the globe, and that he does not need to be compared to anybody when it comes to music.
He wrote; Shatta wale -I am a different guy ,Dont even compare me to any artiste in the world ..If you do that ,I will rise right infront of you like a Volcano ,burn your shame and watch my disgrace be my grace in ur Nigerian face …This is not a fite,it’s the fucken truth #F
