Brother Sammy

has sparked a debate after releasing a song in which he praises Allah.

In the music video for his new song, “Allahu Akbar,” the musician known as “The Nation Worshiper,” surprised everyone by portraying himself as a Muslim.

The song, which was published on April 7, 2022, sparked a debate on social media, with some questioning the purpose of a gospel artist singing “Allahu Akbar.” Some have called it ridicule, but has refuted these charges.

In an interview with Joy News' Doreen Avio, Brother Sammy addressed the issues raised by the song. During their talk, he chastised Christians for being hypocritical at times, particularly those who have criticized him for his song.”

It's a hymn of solidarity… Christians may be hypocrites at times. In Ghana, we require unity. It doesn't follow that, since I'm a gospel singer, a Muslim is my foe. He explained, “It's their time. They're in Ramadan, so I have to do something.”

“I stand for all Christians,” he concluded, “and I want to express to them that we love them” (Muslims). We are the same individual…Muslims go to God via Mohammed, whereas Christians go to God through Jesus. “We're all on our way to God.”

“I wasn't playing, the gear I wore wasn't for jokes, I am serious,” he said in response to the backlash over his costume. “Allahu Akbar” is a wonderful music video that is performing well.
