Recall that when President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo told Ghanaians that there was money in the country for development, actor Sean Paul questioned the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government for introducing the contentious E-Levy.
“The implementation of the E-Levy will increase the suffering of Ghanaians because the poor will suffer more,” Sean Paul said in an interview with the Ambassador TV Entertainment Show hosted by Osei Kwadwo.
“I wonder why the president, who said ‘yete sika so’ to Ghanaians, is compelling Ghanaians to pay the E-Levy before his government can build Ghana,” Sean Paul said.
“A country with fertile terrain and abundant natural resources, such as Ghana, does not require loans or E-levy to prosper,” Sean Paul remarked.
God has endowed Ghana with everything a country needs to thrive, but our problem is that we don’t have leaders that are concerned about the country. All of them have come to better themselves and their families. “
“The E-Levy implementation is akin to a daylight heist.” The adoption of the E-Levy was not on Nana Addo’s or his government’s agenda. “
