, a multi-award-winning Ghanaian songwriter and singer, has stated that he does not release songs with the intention of winning prizes, but rather by the seasons.

The Fante composer and artist discussed his achievement at the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards, which just finished. Kinaata won the VGMA for “Best Highlife Song” with his song “Thy Grace Part 1.”

said in an interview with Amansan Krakye on Kastle FM, “

“Today I want to make it obvious that when I release music, I’m not thinking about getting a VGMA award,” he remarked during an appearance on the Kastle Drive Show.

He remarked, “As for VGMA it’s not even in my mind that I’m doing this particular song around this time in order to win an award… no that’s not the case”.

Speaking about the timing of his song releases, the ‘Behind the Scenes’ hitmaker clarified on Cape Coast-based Kastle FM that winning an award at the VGMA is encouraging but it’s just a day’s event.

“As for the songs we release for the fans because they are the ones who listen to the songs but for VGMA it’s just organized in a day and after that, it’s gone,” he continued.

“VGMA is encouraging but when the fans get fulfilled then you become happy,” told Foklex Media Award-winning Entertainment Program Host, Amansan Krakye.

“But aside from that I’m not sure anyone takes a plan to release their songs around a particular time in order to win an award”, he ended.
