Popular Kumawood movie director Robert Bentil has slammed critics who claim the Kumawood industry has collapsed.

Kumawood producers have clearly been unable to produce films for several years, meaning that the industry has essentially collapsed.

Some Ghanaians, including some Kumawood actors, actresses, producers, and directors, alleging that the Kumawood film industry has already failed since they can’t remember the last time they made a film, with many performers turning to other industries to make ends meet.

Speaking in an interview with Osei Kwadwo on Ambassador TV, Robert Bentil stated that there is a new trend that Kumawood has taken and it hasn’t collapsed like how people perceive it to be.

“Those saying Kumawood Movie Industry has collapsed have no vision because Kumawood will never collapse just that we are following the new trend.”

“Majority of Kumawood Movie producers are working every day but people don’t see them because CDs are not on the market as they used to be. We are all following the new trend so it is difficult to see movie adverts and posters on radio and television stations” he explained.

“Film Producers Association of Ghana (FIPAG) executives are working tirelessly to bring the industry on the right path so very soon Ghanaians will understand us and follow us on social media which is the new trend. Kumawood movie Industry will bounce back soon.
