“It came as a shock When I Got Nominated For Best Vocalist At The VGMA” – Black Sherif Reveals [Video]
Ismail Mohammed Sherif, better known as Black Sherif, a Ghanaian drill phenomenon, has said that he was taken aback when he was nominated in the best vocalist category at the recently concluded Vodafone Ghana Music Awards.
Black Sherif said that he received seven nominations for the award presentation in an interview with Berla Mundi on TV3's New Day segment, but that the best vocalist nomination surprised him.
He recalled how he used to drum tables and sing in school and how he pledged to one day win the VGMA best vocalist award, but he never expected his song “Gold Digger” to get him there.
However, he vowed to give his competitors a run for their money because he would be claiming the award for the best male vocalist in the next Vodafone Ghana Music Awards.
