Ghana Black Stars Finishing 3rd In the 2022 Kirin Cup In Tokyo, has been awarded an amount of $50,000.
The Black Stars in their opening match with Japan lost 4-1 but were able to overcome Chile in the third-place match, winning the bronze medal on penalties.
The match with the La Roja (“The Red One”) ended a goalless draw. It was a penalty shootout that gave the four-time African champions a 3-1 victory over the Chileans following a goalless first half.
For the FIFA World Cup, Japan planned a four-nation event called the Kirin Cup as a warm-up competition for the tournament in November and December of 2022, which will feature Ghana, Tunisia and Japan’s Samurai Blues.
Nigeria was eliminated by Ghana in the final playoff games to qualify for the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
Portugal, South Korea, and Uruguay round up the rest of Group H, which also includes the Black Stars.
