She was born in the early 80s as the last of five (5) children of her parents Mr. Kwabena Appiah (the younger brother of the late Joe Appiah, a renowned lawyer in Kumasi),and Miss Janet Owusu. She has a Canadian nationality as well since she was born and raised in Canada until she turned ten (10) and returned to Ghana with her mother, Miss Janet Owusu. Though there was no disclosure of the family on reasons for their return to Ghana but Jackie's father stayed back in Canada when she returned with her mom. She is of the Ashianti ethnicity.
