Charles Nii Armah Mensah Jn. popularly known as ShattaWale has eulogized the Jamaican dancehall crooner, Adidja Azim Palmer, better known as Vybz Kartel.
Shatta Wale claims that Vybz Kartel’s songs continue to be the most popular in Jamaica even though he is now serving a 35-year prison sentence for his part in the death of his former partner Clive “Lizard” Williams.
He said that he never lied when he disclosed that the iconic dancehall maestro will appear on his next album, called “GOG Album,”.
Shatta Wale claimed on Hitz FM’s Daybreak Hitz that Vybz Kartel is the Messiah of dancehall music because he has maintained his relevance while being imprisoned.
In other news, the self-acclaimed dancehall king has said that he has not had a sponsor since he began his music career.
He claimed recently on the well-known Ghanaian radio station Hitz FM that he has been his own “Chief Executive Officer” since the beginning.
“I have been my own CEO from day one. Because the industry is not structured, anybody at all can just wake up and build a single-room penthouse overhead and no one can do anything about it.
The government is listening to us and they are ever-ready to support us with any amount of money we need. But that will only happen when they see our direction.
It’s about time we stop bashing Shatta Wale and start listening to him so we can have a direction. Let’s stop using these words: “Opinion” and “Emotional”. We have to stop. If you want to express your opinion, do it rightly.”Read more.
