Akwasi Boadi, often known as Akrobeto, a well-known veteran comedy actor and anchor of “Real News,” has admitted that he has never paid rent since moving from Kumasi to Accra forty-three (43) years ago.
The actor claims that his humility and his honesty towards those around him have allowed him to reside in Accra without paying rent.
When explaining how he has been able to live rent-free in Accra, Akrobeto said that he was moved out of his hometown in 1979 by renowned engineer Apostle Kwadwo Sarfo and spent a significant amount of time living in his home without having to pay rent.
The seasoned actor added that even after leaving Apostle Kwadwo Sarfo’s residence, his new landlord refused to collect rent from him.
“I didn’t have anything of my own. My family was very poor. When I completed Form 4 in the year 1979, Apostle Kwadwo Sarfo sent someone to come for me from my village to stay with him in Accra.”
“And I stayed with him for a very long time without paying a dime because of my humility and honesty. Even in times when I moved out, anytime, I pay rent, strangely, the landlords either return my money or refuse to accept it,” Akrobeto explained in an exclusive interview with Precise FM.
Akrobeto described Apostle Kwadwo Sarfo as an inspiration and a source of wisdom to him. He added that the man of God taught him the relevance of staying humble and trustworthy.
