The multi-million dollar casket that will be used to bury the late Queen Elizabeth has arrived, according to the Royal Family.

According to tweets made on the Royal Family’s official social media accounts, the casket will be positioned in the Throne Room.

The post reads; “Her Majesty The Queen’s coffin has arrived at the Palace of Holyroodhouse, where it will rest in the Throne Room until tomorrow afternoon.”

The queen has ruled for 70 years, making her the longest-serving British monarch. She came to the throne in February 1952.

She was the first child born to the Duke and Duchess of York and was born in Mayfair, London (later King George VI and Queen Elizabeth).

Elizabeth assumed the role of heir apparent in 1936 after her father’s brother, King Edward VIII, abdicated.

She had a private education at home and started serving the public during WWII when she enlisted in the Auxiliary Territorial Service.

In November 1947, she wed Philip Mountbatten, a former prince of Greece and Denmark. Their union lasted for 73 years until he passed away in April 2021.

Their four children were Charles III, Anne, Princess Royal, Prince Andrew, Duke of York, and Prince Edward, Earl of Wessex.
