According to , Ghanaians are underrating Daddy Lumba’s songwriting abilities just as they did when the highlife legend first emerged.

The popular song “Sika Aba Fie,” performed by Ghanaian musician Emmanuel Kweku Owusu Darlington (also known as Kweku Darlington), marked his breakthrough. Asakaa, Kweku Darlington, one of the promoters of Ghana Drill music, has artists like Fameye, Kuami Eugene, , and Kweku Flick on his debut remix.

Kweku Darlington reiterated on Onua FM’s Adwuma-Adwuma that Ghanaians do not recognize his talent enough. In order to illustrate his point, he cited Daddy Lumba, the highlife legend who experienced the same dismissal in his early career.

“At the time Daddy Lumba started, we didn’t see him as a legend. It is now that we are seeing and appreciating his talent.”
