Media misconstrued my 2018 comment; Shatta Wale understood; I respect him – Nasty C

Nasty C, a South African rapper, songwriter, and record producer who goes by the stage name Nsikayesizwe David Junior Ngcobo, has admitted that he admires dancehall musician Shatta Wale a lot.

During his 2018 media tour in Ghana, Nasty C lamented how the media misinterpreted a comment he made about a superstar artiste from that country.

In an interview given in 2018 while on tour in Ghana, Nasty C stated, “I have heard the name Shatta Wale but not his works.” Curiously, he continued, “I don’t know if he is a man or woman.”

Nasty C expressed his disappointment at how his remark about Shatta Wale was misrepresented in an interview with Metro FM in his native country.

“I was out in Accra, media run for my album was turning into a mess, if you tuned in [to the interview(s)], you could guess,” he began.

“They asked me if I knew Shatta

According to him, Shatta Wale, being lenient, “understood that, so there’s really nothing there to address, but I thought I’d speak on it to put it to rest.” 

“………show that man [Shatta Wale] some respect.”

[Wale], and they said he’s one of the best. My honest answer ended up being twisted up by the press,” he charged.
