After the December 2, 2022 World Cup match between Ghana and Uruguay at the Al Janoub Stadium in Qatar, midfielder Thomas Partey made time to speak with Luis Suarez.
While Suarez led the Uruguayan team to their first victory at the tournament after they drew with South Korea and lost to Portugal, Partey was on the losing team.

The shirt swap received negative feedback on Twitter, with the word “traitor” coming up frequently. People who are offended by the action claim Partey might have switched the shirts out of sight.
However, for some players, changing shirts after the game was over was no big deal.
With Portugal taking the top spot in Group H and South Korea finishing second ahead of Uruguay on goal differential, Ghana finished last with just four points.
The Black Stars earned three points from three games, defeating South Korea and winning over Uruguay and Portugal. Five goals were scored, and seven were given up.
After the game, Otto Addo announced his resignation to the press.
