Asamoah Gyan, the former captain of the Black Stars of Ghana, has admitted that he misses his friend Castro every day. Castro vanished nine years ago.

Castro, whose real name was Theophilus Tagoe, and Gyan were close friends who even collaborated on a number of songs.

But in July 2014, while on vacation in the Ada Estuary with Gyan, his brother Baffour, and others, the singer vanished along with a woman named Janet Bandu.

This happened following the accidental drowning of Castro and Miss Janet Bandu, who had been riding a jet ski in the Ada Estuary.

Castro hasn't been recovered since he drowned, and Gyan has acknowledged that, despite his efforts to mask his feelings, he misses his comrade every day.

Castro and I met in Italy. In an interview with Dan Kwaku Yeboah on YouTube, the seasoned striker said, “He came there with KK Fosu for a concert in Udine, and while playing, he recognized me in the audience and called me on the stage to dance.”

So, this was in 2005, and that's when we hooked. I got their phone numbers after the performance, and Castro called me when they got back to Ghana to let me know.

“I requested him to do some freestyle, so as he was performing, I started harmonizing, and at that time he recognized I had some musical skill,” he continued. We made the number-one record in the studio with African girls.

“I miss him every day, but I don't express my feelings.” I can always sense him close by.
