Rapper Jason Gaisie, also known as Pappy Kojo, the Ghanaian who currently resides in Italy, has called Accra’s rap culture “dead.”
Pappy claims that the culture only comes to life when he enters the nation’s capital and that once he departs, it returns to a dead end. This claim was made by Pappy Kojo in a Face2Face Africa TV broadcast.
Takoradi’s culture is strict. I’m referring to rap culture. There is still a rap culture. Rap culture is not active in Accra; it only comes to life when I visit. But when I go, it’s dead,” Pappy said in response to a query about the differences in the music scenes in Takoradi and Accra.
