Ghanaian rapper Samuel Frimpong, better known as Medikal, has come to the defense of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo,  arguing that the latter is doing all in his power to end the nation's economic problems. 


asserts that he is reluctant to criticize or pass judgment on President Akufo-Addo because “he is somebody's father,” adding that “maybe he is making every effort to resolve the problem, but things are not that simple on his side.” 

The “Omo Ada” hitmaker said in an interview with Abeiku Santana in January 2023 that, although sharing some of the effects of the present economic crisis, he () would not be hasty to place all the responsibility on the government.

“I share the difficulties this nation has, but I don't think the president is satisfied with the way things are going,” I said. I believe he can do better, but perhaps he is making every effort to resolve the situation, even if it is not going to be simple for him. 

“I have a feeling that the president is not pleased with the way things are going.” It is not true that I am oblivious to the heat or the struggles that Ghanaians face. “I recognize that, but I don't believe the president is ill-intentioned or immoral for wanting to see his people suffer,” he said.

Because he is the father of someone, I won't go about criticizing him and demanding to know why he isn't doing this or that. They'll tell you it's an economic catastrophe, but for all you know, he's truly doing his best. “That is beyond you and me; there is nothing that we can do about it,” he said in the interview.
