Derick Kobina Bonney, better known as DKB, the Ghanaian stand-up comedian, has described how he fired his initial management team members for reportedly eating his meals.
DKB was admitted to the University of Ghana in 2005 and, after establishing himself at a school event, began a professional stand-up comedy career there.
When he represented Ghana in Big Brother Africa (season 7) in 2012, his fame increased.
DKB discussed how his career in comedy got started in a one-on-one interview with renowned broadcaster Ekow Koomson. He described how he fired his initial management team members for reportedly eating food he received as a prize for winning a comedy competition on campus.
“There was a competition held on campus at Commonwealth Hall, and when I arrived, the MC asked whether I could fool?” He gave me the microphone despite having doubts about my ability, and after I made two jokes, they declared me the winner. DKB was shared with Ekow Koomson.
“I immediately became a star after leaving the stage…
I now have a PRO manager and a road manager.
In reality, my classmates were on each side of me, controlling me. “Two kebab sticks, two cups of juice, a bag of popcorn, and something more” were my prize, he added.
When the well-known comedian claimed, “I saw my teammate approaching but I never got it…
,” it was the most thrilling section of the conversation. My management ingested my products, and I fired them the same day, despite the fact that you could plainly see oil streaks on their mouths when I questioned them about whether they had received the items.
