There’s A Bit Pressure When Playing For The Black Stars – Kamaldeen Sulemana

Black Stars winger Kamaldeen Sulemana noted that there were high hopes when Ghana was chosen to represent the country on the world stage.

The new Southampton forward participated in all three of Ghana’s World Cup games in Qatar as the Black Stars were eliminated from the competition in the group stage.

Sulemana said that representing his country brought pressure, despite the pride he had in doing so.

“It’s an enormous honor.” It is a wonderful honor for you to have been picked out of our 30 million citizens. There is no room for hesitation once you get onto the field; you must give it all. “There are a ton of people watching you and counting on you,” he told the Southampton media.

There is some pressure there, but without pressure, you wouldn’t perform to your full potential. If there is no pressure, we won’t push you beyond your comfort level. I thus consider it a tremendous honor to represent my country and look forward to continuing to do so.
