Seun Kuti's description of Peter Obi, the presidential candidate for the Labour Party, as an opportunist has been roundly criticized by popular Nigerian artist Peter Okoye of P-square fame.
Seun Kuti, the son of Fela Anikulapo Kuti, a legendary musician, said in a podcast that only Nigerians alone can preserve their nation, and that's when everything began to unravel.
He labels Peter Obi, a presidential aspirant in Nigeria, an opportunist and contends that he is not capable of saving Nigeria, as his followers say.
Seun Kuti asserted that Peter Okoye has been accepting donations from politicians and participating in their campaigns since 2015, despite the fact that he was offered money to assist some candidates in 2015 but turned it down.
In response to Seun Kuti's remarks, Peter Okoye, the well-known and ardent supporter of Peter Obi, attacked him, saying:
“If no be because of your papa, Abeg who sabi you? I can't even point out one song that you sang sef. You think is by offing shirt
and be shouting all the time as if you are the only person that knows Nigeria problem. If some people fail for life dem go de find excuses…
Dude, is either you sing against them or you sing the general acceptable song, politician will always be politician, you wey sing against them, waiting the song change?. The way forward is what we should focus on. WE HAVE ELECTIONS TO PREPARE FOR.” Peter wrote.
