Former Ghanaian soccer player John Paintsil advises Chris Hughes to think about partnering with Kwasi Appiah if he wants the Black Stars to be successful.
On Sunday night, Hughton was chosen to lead the senior national squad after long talks between the Ghana Football Association and the former.
Following Otto Addo's resignation following Ghana's elimination from the 2022 FIFA World Cup, the 64-year-old was appointed.
Success is Hughton's and the Ghana FA's top priority, and Painstil, a longtime right-back for the Black Stars, thinks someone with Appiah's profile will aid the Irish in achieving that goal.
Speaking on Mining City Radio, he added, “What he needs is someone like Kwasi Appiah.”
“When Chris Hughton has Kwasi Appiah on his team, they can even win the Nations Cup back-to-back because, with him having that experience, Kwesi Appiah having that experience, and him knowing the culture of the game, I think it will be all.”
