Following the earthquake in Turkey, Ghanaian footballer Christian Atsu was discovered dead after being buried in the debris for days.
The 31-year-old left his wife, Marie-Claire Rupio, and two children as his only survivors
. The sad news of Atsu's passing was announced on Twitter by his agent Nana Sechere on Saturday morning.
Taking to twitter, agent wrote:
“It is with the heaviest of hearts that I have to announce to all well wishers that sadly Christian Atsu's body was recovered this morning.”
“I ask that whilst we make the necessary arrangements, that everyone would please respect the privacy of the family during this very difficult time.”
