In an interview with Joy Prime TV, Vera Hamenoo-Kpeda, popularly known as MzVee, one of Ghana's most renowned female musicians, disclosed that she had fought with partial eyesight since birth.

The gifted vocalist admitted that she didn't start wearing spectacles until she was eight years old, when her parents were made aware of her persistent eye strain by her teachers.

Speaking openly about her illness, admitted that she frequently has to strain her eyes in order to see her audience when she is performing on stage.

“Unless I really look and gaze, which I don't really do,” she admitted, “I don't see when I am performing.

Despite this obstacle, claimed that being partially blind has actually been beneficial to her in several respects, particularly when she initially began performing.

She claimed that not being able to see the audience made her less anxious and encouraged her to concentrate more on her song.

Except when I really look and gaze, which I don't really do, I am unable to see when I am performing. Because I wouldn't see anyone when I went on stage, it helped me when I first started singing and I was extremely anxious about the audience, she continued.
