In anticipation of capturing the Ayawaso West Wuogon Parliament seat in the 2024 general elections, actor and politician John Dumelo has expressed great optimism.
He claimed that, after closing the gap in the 2020 elections, the time has come for him to win the seat in 2024.
In order to keep her seat in Parliament, Lydia Seyram Alhassan, the current MP for the district, defeated John Dumelo in the 2020 elections.
The Election Commission (EC) said that Madam Alhassan, who ran for the parliamentary position on the platform of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), won with 39,851 votes. 37,778 votes were cast for John Dumelo.
Taking to twitter, he wrote:
“Thank you all for the congratulatory messages. 2024 is a must win in Ayawaso West Wuogon. As parliamentary candidate in 2020, we closed the gap from 10,000 to under 1,900 through hard work. It’s time to take the seat. Let’s all get involved.”
