Shugatiti Sues Man Of God Who Claims She Is A “Mamiwata” Sent To Destroy Men

Abena Serwaa Frimpong, also known as Shugatiti, a Ghanaian socialite and proprietor of the Pot of Shuga restaurant, has sued famous preacher and two other people for defamation.

The case is the result of claims made by Reverend Gogo, also known as Prophet Ekatso, that Shugatiti is a “Mami Wata”-type sea demon.

The prophet said that the businesswoman was enticing people to purchase her cuisine by using extraterrestrial powers while speaking on Oman Channel with host Msomfo Efia Empress.

“She is controlled by a marine spirit, and everybody who enters her restaurant will get controlled as well. In the spiritual realms, she reigns as queen. Any lady who has dined at her establishment has been possessed.

“She has been sent by the devil to destroy. She can possess women who visit her restaurant merely by talking to you or having an encounter with you…all those who visit her restaurant should be very careful,” the pastor said in the interview.

Shugatiti, who passionately refutes these allegations, then filed a lawsuit against the pastor, the media industry, Mama Radio GH, and host Msomfo Efia Empress to clear her name.

The gorgeous socialite claims the accusations are completely baseless and have damaged her reputation beyond repair.

Shugatiti announced the defamation lawsuit on Twitter and declared she was prepared to face the man of God in court if he could back up the claims.

“Members of (Ekatso) church inform your pastor to meet me in court to prove that I'm a demon of the sea with an evidence of entering the sea,” the tweet said.

According to the court documents that were obtained, the plaintiff is a “demon-possessed person of questionable character and means, and it is dangerous for ordinary right-thinking members of society to be associated with, acquainted with, or have any contact whatsoever with the dentist.”

In her statement of claim, Shugatiti requests that the court rule “That the words uttered by defendants on Oman Channel which was published on 16th April on OMAN Channel can be found on Youtube is defamatory.”

Additionally, it requests “General damages for defamation of character,” “Punitive damages,” and 4 other claims in addition to others.
