Why Is Gyakie Not Nominated For The VGMA ‘Artiste Of The Year’ – Olele Salvador Asks
As the final night of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards approaches, there have been buzzes on the internet, especially concerning the one who takes home the ultimate award, which is the artwork of the year, because the gospel fraternity is keen to help their very own Pieise Esther win the ultimate, while the secular music world too doesn’t want to take it lightly with them.
The name that has been missing from the nominees for Artist of the Year is that of Jackline Acheampng, better known as Gyakie, who played a significant role in holding the music and Ghanaian afrobeats world down when things were sinking.
This is what Ghanaian entertainment journalist Olele Salvador seems not to understand, and hence he has taken to his official Twitter page to ask why the song Brid was not nominated for the biggest category of the night.
Taking to Twitter, he wrote:
I really wanted to ask why Gyakie wasn’t nominated for #VGMA24 Artiste of the Year… cuz if that category definition was anything to go by, Something, deffo shoulda given her a look in
