Ghanaian songstress Sista Afia has opened up about a betrayal she suffered at the hands of a former partner, shining light on a facet of her life that many people were unaware of.

The ‘Jeje’ hitmaker spoke candidly about how this betrayal affected her perception of relationships during an interview with Emelia Brobbey.

Sista Afia acknowledged that she had a great desire to experience love to the fullest and to fully embrace the thrill of youth. As a result, she claimed, she chose the incorrect partner without seeing the coming pain that awaited her.

She claims that the first red flag was when she learned that her boyfriend had fathered a child with another woman, but she continued the relationship anyway because she was so in love.

When Sista Afia learned that her beloved had actually married someone else while they were still together, it was a crushing blow that left her feeling severely upset and shattering her belief in the reality of pure love.

“At some point, I let go, and I was glad because sometimes God lets you know early on when a spouse is harboring some unpleasant sentiments.

“Therefore, I felt grateful and relieved. It served as a lesson for me that I may apply to any future relationships. I explain my experience to any prospective partners so they won’t commit the same mistakes, she added.

She explained, “I’ve learned the hard way that having fewer expectations might lead to fewer disappointments.
