”It’s Very Difficult To Understand Akuffo Addo When He’s Speaking In English” – Kumchacha
Prophet Nicholas Osei, also known as Kumchacha, the founder and head of Heaven's Gate Ministries, has stated that he finds it difficult to comprehend President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo when he talks in English.
He pointed out that the typical Ghanaian who hasn't made much progress in school finds it challenging to grasp President Akufo-Addo's messages because of the slang in his English.
Prophet Kumchacha said that while the English of earlier presidents like John Agyekum Kufuor, the late John Evans Atta-Mills, and John Dramani Mahama is clear, that of Akufo-Addo is a little difficult to comprehend because of the slang.
Prophet Kumchacha revealed in an interview with Okay FM that the majority of Ghanaians who do not have advanced degrees find it difficult to comprehend President Akufo-Addo's English.
You would find it difficult to comprehend a word that President Akufo-Addo says if you listened to him when he spoke and did not pay close attention to what he was saying. His English is not British English; it's slang. Sometimes I can't even hear him well when he says, “fellow Ghanaians.” I'm not the only one who finds it difficult to understand his English. Market ladies in Ghana once organized a news conference to request that Akufo-Addo deliver his speech in Twi as they couldn't comprehend his English, he added.
