I cried every day before my parents allowed me do music – Tyla

South African singer Tyla Laura Seethal, popularly known as Tyla, has revealed that she had it difficult convincing her parents to allow her do music.

She said her parents were against her decision to become a musician because they do not consider music a job.

The ‘Water’ singer said her parents eventually gave in after she cried for days.

Speaking in a recent interview with Power 106 FM, Los Angeles, U.S.A, Tyla said, “My parents weren’t really strict on what I’m doing, but they were strict in terms of me going to the studio than getting a job.

I’ve heard so many women who wanted to do music and didn’t end up the way they wanted to. So, my parents were just trying to protect me, which is fine, but I showed them that I want to do music by all means.”
