Patricia Helen Heaton is an American actress, producer, and comedienne. She began her career in the ABC drama series Thirtysomething (1989–1991) and later appeared in the comedy films Memoirs of an Invisible Man and Beethoven.

She then starred in short-lived sitcoms Room for Two (1992–93), Someone Like Me (1994), and Women of the House (1995). Heaton played Debra Barone in the CBS sitcom Everybody Loves Raymond (1996–2005). She received seven Primetime Emmy Award nominations for her role in Everybody Loves Raymond, winning the award in 2000 and 2001.

She also received five nominations for Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Comedy Series and won Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series in 2003.

Heaton starred in the ABC comedy series The Middle from 2009 to 2018, winning the Critics' Choice Television Award for Best Actress in a Comedy Series.

Heaton co-founded FourBoys Films in 2001, which produced the Sony feature comedy, Moms' Night Out, and TNT's production, The Engagement Ring. She also launched her homewares line, Patricia Heaton Home, with Walmart.

In addition to acting, Heaton works towards ending poverty and hunger through charities such as Heifer International and World Vision.

She has supported various charities including Alliance For Children's Rights, Cure Autism Now, International Myeloma Foundation, Tuberous Sclerosis Alliance, Red Cross, Operation Gratitude, and Fresh Air Fund.

Heaton made her television debut in 1989 and her theatrical film debut in 1992. She has also published a book titled “Your Second Act: Inspiring Stories of Transformation” and appeared in the television series “Carol's Second Act” as Carol Kenney. On the same day of the 2021 storming of the United States Capitol, she tweeted that she had converted from the Republican Party to the Independent Party.
